Claiming ABS when it isn't

I look at Kijiji every now and again, just to see what's for sale out there, and I've noticed a worrying trend: A lot of people selling non-ABS CBR250Rs are claiming that they have ABS. It's really obvious; the front brakes are missing the third brake line.

It seems to me that telling somebody they have ABS when they actually don't is a great way to get them killed. I have a strong urge every time I see it to message the seller and correct them.

What do you think, folks?

Every bike is a good bike. The question is whether or not it's the best bike for what you want to do.

Third? The ABS has two and the non-ABS has one. Not sure if that was just a typo.

I definitely brain farted there. They're also missing the ABS designation on the front.

No it has three. One for the front brake, one for the ABS sensor and one coming from the rear brake as it is a combined brake system.
@tegs

I would contact the site owner and report fraudulent offers.

I always look for the little disc inboard of the brake disc with the slots in it.

I noticed them right away on the KTM RC390 someone was talking about in another thread.

abs toothed ring is the best id..

note on cbr300r only one line to caliper
with independent abs, but theres that
toothed ring to tell the tale..

ive also seen non-abs bikes for sale [photos]
clearly showing no abs ring, and did contact
a bike sale site in feedback.. no response..
no change to that bike ad..

ads sticker is no guarantee[!]
easy to swap out a guard,
or apply an abs sticker..

another example of - 'buyer beware'..

I saw an ad that said, "This is the year Honda started adding ABS to their bikes." So they didn't say they bike for sale had ABS, but they surely implied that it did. Like shisoshin, I always look for that ABS ring.

Link to.pictures and posts?

Because I saw, in the past, when looking at ads, often "same same" pictures, even on official websites from dealers or manufacturers.
Meaning they had ABS bikes pictures for non ABS offers and vice versa.
Same is with text.

Why do I have to write, what is available for copy/paste already?
Or do a picture of?
@Schroeder
Nice picture you have posted.
Good example, isn't it?
;-)
