Don't sell. Install a cbr300 motor. I've considered doing that to mine as a fun project.

Im curious as to how many years it takes to develop the technical riding skills and proficiency to "outgrow this bike".

I would venture to guess that > 90% of the people who claim that their riding skills are so advanced that they have "graduated to a 600" are mistaken and filled with over-confidence in their own abilities.

I see people on larger than 500cc sportbikes in the twisties and they STINK (to put it nicely) in their ability to take corners without having to slow way down and they are barely able to stay inside the lane.

Its sad but those guys are usually the next round of "organ donors" when their lack of proficiency meets an aggressive cager and they end up re-incarnated into their next life.

Not trying to be rude here, just my personal observations. What I am trying to say is that most of the people who feel they have graduated to the next level are actually over-stating their abilities and I hate to see them find out the HARD WAY how wrong they are.

Garage
Not a problem, what you said is largely true.

The picture above came after riding a 233cc Honda Rebel too exuberantly.
