    Hi skysensor,

I purchased the regular size waterproof duffle from Cabela's. I've recently completed a 3500km touring/camping trip with my new saddlebags and duffle system. The entire luggage system worked great. You need to make sure to roll the top of the duffle at least a couple of turns to ensure it will prevent some moisture from getting in through the top of the bag in rainstorms (some comments on the Cabela's sight mention this as well). However, I rode through some pretty severe storms on my trip and all the items in the duffle remained completely dry.

The racheting ropes are similar to racheting straps. The great thing about them is that you can quickly secure your load - and then after your first stop you can check the tension. If the ropes are a little loose (due to load shifting or settling) - you can just pull on the rope and the ratcheting system automatically tightens again!

    Hope this was useful.

    Take care,

    Mike
