Got a new bike, a CBR300R

well i got hit by a lady back in May who had no insurance, no license and then fled. Insurance totaled my 250 and wrote me a check and i finally got cleared to ride a motorcycle again by the doctor back in early August but still left with some permanent back and neck injuries from it along with torn MCL and torn leg muscle. Monday i went on my day off and bought a new cbr 300r(G?) and Wednesday, i got it delivered to me at work (from Sanford, ~40 miles away) and found myself pretty nervous to ride again but also excited. now i find myself in the process of breaking in another cbr and looking to see if my spare parts from the 250 will fit on the 300? i have a spare leo vince exhaust, a few sets of oil filters with washers and gaskets, turn signals, mirrors etc. anything that won't work will be for sale. thanks in advance.

Nice new bike.
Does said lady at least pay you some compensation for the permanent injuries?

My computer is fighting Aids and Cancer in it's idle time, and yours?

thanks very much. nope, police initially arrested her after they caught her but let her go ( i have no idea why). if i died, she would've gotten away with murder. to be more descriptive, i was on a 6 lane road, 3 lanes heading south, i was in center lane and had cars to left and right and she cut in front of me from right lane to center with 1-1.5 car lengths and she was going less than half my speed. she had bare bone coverage which didn't include PIP (personal injury protection) so my insurance policy has to front the bill for my injuries. my insurance has already doubled and she has no assets.

Looking good in black, must be good to have a bike again.
Heaps of info on the 300 over on the other site if you havent signed up already.
I found the slip on off my 250R didnt fit the 300 without some cutting and tweaking.

deja vu mate.. similar situation with my black beauty totalled
[lights, angled head on as he turned in front of me], similar joint[s]
damage, ligaments, fractures etc.. just coming good after 15mths..
my insurance was excellent [aami], full insured value,
new shark helmet etc..
like you im now checking out good used or value
[black] cbr250/300r's.. added coincidence being leo vince
[carbon] slip on [original stolen 250] and intended
again for poor black beautyII now in bike heaven..

i found after coming back after a long layoff before the 250
then with her replacement new cbr300ra it was very helpful
for confidence and awakening of brain/muscles of riding
to go to a handy large quiet carpark nearby to practice..

learning the 300 as part of that process..
no distractions,, just me and my motorcycle..
just basic circling, braking practice etc..
soon as i get into the saddle again
itll be over to that seaside carpark
again,, for more of the same..

good luck mate..
do a few circles for me

Good luck with the new bike.
Don't be too concerned about the apprehension you may feel right now getting "back in the saddle" after an accident.
Perfectly normal and the more miles you put on your new bike the more your confidence will return.

That's terrible. So sorry to hear about your injuries. Hopefully in time you'll see improvement to your back and neck.

To answer your questions, the letter G in your 300's model number signifies the model year... G is used for 2016 Honda motorcycles. You'll also see the letter G used as the 10th character in your bike's VIN number.

As for your extra 250R parts, the oil filters, drain plug washers, and filter cover gaskets can definitely be used with the 300R (in fact the two bikes use the same P/N's for those parts).

Mirrors and turn signals from the 250R may work, but as kiwi rider pointed out, the differences between the length exhaust head pipes of the two bikes prevents a 250R slip-on from being a direct fit to a 300R. Hope this info helps.

Good luck, and safe travels on your new bike.

no i haven't signed up yet over there, i wasn't sure how much different in design the 300 was from the 250. il do that in the near future. i also bought a zero gravity smoked windscreen and a seat cowl as i was there finalizing the papers too. i got a call friday that they were in but haven't gone out there to pick em up, maybe this week.
