Got my bike about 6 weeks ago and rolled up to 2000 miles today. That's evenings after work, and a longer ride on the weekends. Got a cold front through this morning so riding was uber nice this evening, low 70's. Our ride yesterday evening was about 102 F, ugh. Also, got some help from our friendly local police. Wife and I were having odometer discrepancies after 60 - 70 mile rides, so I figured somebody's speedo was off. Asked the guy to radar us coming into town and he said "no prob" Apparently he is asked to do that all the time. Anyway, turned out mine was dead on, 40 @ 40, wife's ninjette is reading 3 mph slow, 35 @ 38. I'm assuming this could/would change a little at differing speeds?

I can happily report that my bike feels broken in now. Much smoother, seems more powerful (still can't keep up with that ******************** green one), and running like a top, averaging around 71 mpg. No knocks, rattles, wobbles, wiggles, or squeaks. I'm enjoying every ride a little more as my experience increases. For all those people that are just starting out and are scared #$!*less, it gets better. Anyway, just felt like posting. Thanks!

From different threads on this forum it appears the US 250's have little to no speedo error, and everywhere else is between 6-10%? I'm still yet to test mine but following several police cars that (hopefully) weren't speeding, as well as the general traffic speed around me, that mine is off by about 10%. My mate's '92 CBR250RR (grey import from Japan) seems to have close to 0% error, as we did a speed gauge where I was riding at 66 indicated (which should be 60 for me) and he was right behind me and reported he was doing spot on 60.

Interesting stuff.
