I found a bike that seems like a good deal/condition. I havent seen it in person yet but the guy told me its 100% stock and its nearly mint. He said he bought it used so he doesnt know how many owners the bike has had. Hes also willing to let me take it for a test drive and let a mechanic inspect it. The bike is a 2007, currently has 85XX miles on it, and hes asking me 5900 for it. This is not a dealership, and private party.

My question is, do you think this is a good deal? what is your suggestion? What is the value of this bike? Is there anything unusual of this bike from the pictures? This will be my first bike purchase so is there any tips I should keep in mind?

Defining a 'deal' will depend almost entirely on where you're located (e.g., what kind of market/competition is available). Where I live, this would be considered medium-high given the mileage/condition. Other markets might consider this high, and others low. Is there a 'blue-book' equivalent for your area/country?
Whats going on in the areas I highlighted? looks like it may have been dropped at low speed.

Blue book value has it at around $6000, for similar mileage, so your getting a fair price, but not a deal i'd say. Brand new one retails for around 10 grand, and its essentially the same bike.

I picked up a ninja 650r on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $2500 with 4500 miles on it. BB value is around $3100 but thats with over 10,000 miles.

If you're patient you can probably find a better deal. 600rr's get beat and stunted a lot too, so it may wear out quicker.

I live in northern Virginia/Washington DC. Thank you guys for all the help and advice, I really appreciate it. Great community :).
not a bad deal but i'd try to get closer to 5k. looks like it's been dropped or laid down, might be worried about the damage on the case cover. but great bike, you'll love it.

ps my bike had twice as many miles when it was totaled and insurance gave me $6200 for it
Too much bike for a first bike in my opinion. Be wary of hidden damage. Make sure you inspect it closely and at a very minimum look at the items mentioned here: Used Bike Checklist
