Mongoose is actually just my nick-name... nothing to do with the BMX bikes. lol. Also, I did think it was weird that the oil changes were so far apart but that's what the manual calls for as per page 34 of the manual.

This Tuesday I'm getting my 600 mile service and since it's going to be "broke in" by then I'm switching it to AMSoil Full synth 10w-30 so i'm sure it will do fine with the 8000mile intervals.

I've read somewhere that you shouldn't change to synthetic oil until after 2000-3000 miles. not sure though, just remember reading that here.

yea 8000miles seems fine with this bike and synthetic oil

Ya. I'll prob just ride reg oil for the first 4000. Prob better to put synth in right before winter anyway.

I scheduled an appt. for my 4,000mi. check up and then went back to the owners manual to see what all would be done for $125. Inspect the brake pads, clutch, brake fluid and idle speed? Not even an oil change. I think I better cancel my appt. I figured out how to clean and lube my chain. Surely I can inspect these too. I guess the only reason why I posted this is because I want to make sure I am not over looking something?????

My bike is at 797 miles and my 600 mile service is in 12 days because they are so overbooked. Out of experience, am I good to keep riding until the service (may be at 1300 miles total in 12 day) or should I park it for now?

Personaly I would ride it but others will disagree. This exact question was asked by someone else recently. Something awful doesn't happen to your bike at 600 or any other mileage. I usually make a point of going over, sometimes way over, and I've never had an issue.

The dealer said that he can't advocate it but to not exceed 2000 miles.

Can anyone share with me your service schedule in malaysia?.
my dealer told me first 500, then every 1k have to service. its too fast?.

same here. every 1k. i still think its a bit excessive. but to keep the warranty valid, you have to follow. make sure its serviced by the honda approved "impian shop". check the boon siew official website for branches. i use the one in seri kembangan. so far so good. mine is due now... need to go this weekend.

The first Dealer Service is 1000k (600m) then after that every 12,000k :)
