Today I became the proud owner of a Black CBR250R Euro spec, with ABS. I'm a military member stationed in Germany and the dealer here only sold Euro spec. Being military, I got it without German tax which put it at $5k even (USD).
Now it is sitting pretty in my car port with only 2km from the dealership on it
. They kindly threw in a nice Honda ball cap and a tank protector (and an owner's manual in English...). They told me to bring it back for the 1000km service, which runs about 150 euro.
Now I'm just waiting on the formalities, i.e. M class license. New York state should have mailed out my M class license yesterday, so I should hopefully have it by next week and then I'll be able to get a German motorcycle license and get the bike registered. Until then, I'll be reading through the manual and finishing the second half of Proficient Motorcycling.
With the CBR and my recently acquired Smart Car, I'll be averaging something like 55mpg
I am resisting the urge of hearing it purr for lengths on end due to it still needing a break in. I'll admit, haven't checked the manual yet, but what's the generally accepted break in method? I think I've read around here that the manual suggests a soft break in, but I've seen some articles suggesting that a good hard break in is better for modern day motors?
