Woohoo I finally hit the 300 mile mark on my ride in to work this morning. I followed the manuals advice for the break in, no hard starts or stops but I still rose the bike like a bike and didn't stay under any RPM limit, just nice and gentle. Now it's time to ride.

Thats a deal - at three dealers in northern Ohio I was qouted 275+parts/325+parts/350+parts. Looked at my options and just bought the service manual to do it myself. One evening in the home shop and several days waiting for shims (if not in stock) seems like it worth it to save $$$$. Good time to install my puig screen too.

That sounds about right, My cheapest with everything but tax is $325. I think about this service I'm gonna start doing my own service.

The dealers here in Vegas seem to be around $350 plus parts. I don't have my book in front of me, is the valve clearance check due at the 600 mile service?

mid $200's here too....$75-$110 of that was for the oil change alone..they charge 30 minutes to take off a fairing @$75 an hour labor..i can do it easily myself in less than 3 minutes...change my own oil now for less than $20 too..didnt know any better at that time tho

after i hit 300 miles i started running that mother thru the gears and redlining on occasion..especially after the first service was done...you'll really start to feel the power getting better and better the more you do that....

Same here on that oil change....pissed me off....$89 WTF!

Yes, the 600-mile service includes the valve clearance checks and any necessary adjustments.
