I came across some 86-87 rebel 450s. should i consider one? they run real cheap, for like 750-1500.

38 HP at 410 lbs wet weight. Parallel twin engine.
Sounds like cheap fun, a little faster than the 250R.
Maybe as a temporary beater transition bike.
I would still steer you to the Suzuki SV650 for a permanent
and lasting upgrade.
