A memorable ride to a friend's wedding and much more

Riding to a friend’s wedding always gets me excited. There have been ample occasions where I’ve missed out on friend’s weddings held within the city, but happily gate crashed when someone gets married at his native place or at least decent riding distance from home. So this one wasn’t any different! A ride to an ex-colleague’s wedding turned out to be an amazing ride.

Route & distance: Mumbai-Hubbali-Jog Falls- Murudeshwar- Udupi- Coorg- Davangere-Mumbai: 2560 kms

Sharing a few images here:

Daylight after a night’s ride:

Interior roads towards Jog Falls- as against my apprehension of roads being bad, they turned out to be pretty good

Lovely roads to ride amidst peacefulness.

The famous Jog Falls…..delayed rains meant scanty streams 

Post some terrible bouncy roads….reach Murudeshwar to catch a sight of the mighty Lord Shiva at Murudeshwar

The Murudeshwar Beach

The little one finally gets some much needed rest

New day, new destination to head towards

Green vistas along the way

Thought to surprise another friend’s parents by an impromptu visit- but they surprised me by not being at home ;)

Yaaaay, and here come the twisties

And the roads get even better

Next Stop- The Nyingmapa Monastery aka the Golden Temple

Moving on to say hello to the clouds

Lord Ganesha immersion proceedings

And thereon it was a scamper back home. Missed my way, rode through some jungle and villages which weren’t safe for night travelers. This fuel pump showed up after 200 kms when I was below than half tank. So had to pace my ride- not too fast to run out of fuel and get stranded at an unsafe place nor too slow to be held by someone. It wasn’t a great feeling to be frank.

Stopped for a short nap and tea break.

Time to get into cruise control right till home sweet home

Hope it wasn’t too boring. Thanks for watching

Thanks for all the beautiful pictures, that certainly was some ride to attend a wedding. More of an adventure. Well done.
Thanks a lot. Yeah weddings are just another reason to ride ;)

Fantastic pictures! Thanks for sharing. You're quite a photographer! Especially love the picture of your CBR with the background of misty mountains. Excellent!
Thanks for the flattering comment ;) Well am more like a point and shoot photographer. The clouds suddenly gathered and I didnt want to miss the moment- just parked the bike closer to the edge and put the cam to work.
