I'm on the fence about it. The money could be better spent just on upgrading the tires to stickier sport rubber. I realize all the stats and all that that says ABS saves you in a panic.

Motorcycles got by w/o ABS for decades, and racers still don't use it. So that kind of throws the challenge out to me to get better and work on my skills/reflexes.
Maybe because it is banned like in F1, i dont know, but i remember F! gained over 2 sec. per lap with abs.

So you are actually telling us, that you can adjust the brake up to 16 times per second, and even in panic :rolleyes: :)

Car and bike manufacturers disagree with you, Luke, they use ABS because its possible for the ABS system to control a wheellock up to 16 times a second,

Can you do better than that system, even in a panic situation ;-)

Well just remember this;
ABS ensures the minimum brakedistance in panic.

NOBODY can control a wheellock up to 16 times a second. Not even Luke :D

Buy what you wanna buy, im in no doubt what to choose.

Hi Kim,

I'm an advocate too. However, everything I've read suggests that professional riders (e.g., racers) can stop in less distance (on a dry surface) without the use of ABS.

Mike
Maybee, i dont know about that, you read a lot sh** on the internet :)

But we are talking about panicbraking:
With ABS you automatically hit hard on the brakes and ABS control the wheellock up to 16 times a second (did i mention that before? naa.. :D)

But i fully understand why you wont wait for a ABS version in your country

One of those things you should remember when driving a bike - keep your distance all the time

It's terrible... my dealer has a red one just sitting there...I could ride it away today.

But I will wait till my ABS comes, if I wait till Sept. This is the first brand new bike I have ever bought. I would not be happy knowing I could have ABS & settled for a non. I'd probably crash with a front wheel lock up on a wet road stop. It just isn't worth it. I'll ride my CM450c till then.

Ha ha ha, that was a funny thread :D:D
(I hope not im the only one that can see the funny thing) :)

Oh i thought you were joking, sorry - the funny part was that you dont dare to buy a non abs because of the consequences, and here is the funny part;
You´ll continue to drive on you old cm450c wich dont have abs :D
Thats why i thought you were joking, sorry..

Yes there are... IF Honda didnt thrust ABS, neither did they put it on their cars/bikes, like Mercedes, BMW, and on and on, right? :)
I think Honda made the non-abs, because of a cheaper price - to sell more of their bikes.

Besides, the links are taken from himself: FIA, and WIKI, i could easily find more, i do not link from eg. the dude down by the river here :D

Qute "´living in a van down by the river" is taken from the late funny chris farley from the days of "Saturday night live" :D

It isnt about winning, you are just trying to make ordinary people believe that they dont need it, thats why i and eg. FIA write that it saves lives.
