Acceleration lag after replacing shims and camshaft

I just changed my shims and camshaft due to knocking and thinned shims. But now the engine became lagging , bike is not accelerating as it was before. It does achieve higher rpms but slower than before. Also it struggles while going uphill and I'm unable to use its power in fully.
Does the problem will fix eventually or else i have to adjust the clearance again? Help and suggestions much needed. Thnks

I'd double-check everything.

Sounds like the cam timing may be off a tooth.
