Hello, ladies and gents. New member here from the LA area.

Don't have a CBR250 yet, but I've got a deposit on a black one at the dealership until I can scrape the cash together in a few weeks.

The bike will be for the wifey, who is new to riding but wants to get in the game. I already have a CBR600RR, but she tried to ride that and decided it was too much bike, and after seeing her try, I have to agree.

These are my babies:

Anyhow, joined up to do a bit of research. For one, my wife is extremely vertically challenged, and I was wondering if the bike could be lowered a hair somehow.

I know a lowering link is in production, but im not sure if they are available for the public at this time. My wife also wanted a 600 CBR Phoenix but I talked her into starting her out with the 250R. Great beginner bike and nice commuter. Its alot easier on my wrist than my d675 and r6.

How tall is your wife. My wife is 5'2 and she tip toes around just fine.

She's 5'1" on a good day. She can get the balls of her feet on the ground, so I'm not too concerned, but it would be nice to get it a bit lower.

I bought the CBR600RR for her, and had it lowered. She took the MSF course on a rebel and did great, but the 600RR's got her psyched out, I think. It's a different animal than the Rebel for sure. She dropped it a couple of times at super low speeds, now she won't even get on it.

So... 250 it is. I just want to do everything I can to make sure she's comfortable on it, because if this one doesn't pan out, she'll probably be back to riding pillion forever.

Bummer she dropped it already. Its really a mental thing after that. If they had performance caps on the ecu like they do other countries that would be nice. Throttle control is probably the hardest thing to master with a bigger bike. My wife has seen probably 25-30 miles on her bike so far and she's gettin more comfortable as we go.

We're actually gonna go on a night ride tonight so she wont be scared of the dark haha. Hopefully this bike works out for her as it has my wifes. I particularly aren't very fond of passengers.
