On my 2011 when I peeled off the gas tank warning stickers and Honda sticker above the headlight I didnt use heat, just peeled and used Goo Gone. The Goo Gone dulled the paint.
Just did it on my 2012 and used a hair dryer and WD40. Didnt mess up the paint at all. WD40 took off the residue from the tank stickers better then the Goo Gone without dulling the paint. The Honda sticker didnt leave any residue. Took about a minute for all 4 stickers.
Great tip. although I used Goo Gone and it didn't dull the finish on my bikes. Weird that it reacted differently on identical bikes, but good to know that WD40 works.

Here a crazy advertisng story. You know the Monster logo. Sure everyone does. A guy at work had it tattooed on the top of his hand. Looks just like the can. Now try and pull that sticker off. Im not knocking tattoos as I have alot, but free advertising for life, for free. crazy
It wasn't even for free, he had to pay for the tattoo! Those are the people who don't last more than a week at my work.

I used Goo Gone, as well, on all the idiot stickers... no dulling whatsoever... shines as bright as the rest of the tank... (black 2012)

The stickers are very subtle. Everyone who looks at it never even notices the 250 stickers and are shocked when I tell them its a 250.
I have no problem announcing its a 250. If I wanted a bigger motor I wouldve bought a bigger bike.
Besides the little rear tire pretty much announces to anyone who knows bikes that its a small displacement bike.
Taking off the stickers and screwing up the finish will end up hurting your resale value if you decide to sell it.
I agree with madd trapper better off to just leave it alone. Also many want the bike the way it came from the factory and not stripped down that might hurt on resale also

The black bike looks really good debadged. I dont thnk the Red which i got would look as good with the stickers removed from fairing. i sure hate when they clear coat stickers on tank so you cant remove them without damage.

You will probably get to see a debadged red one in the next few days. I thought it would look cooler if I cut the "250R" off the "CBR 250R" fairing stickers, but I feel like I botched the job so I'm probably going to remove the CBR part, too and see how that looks. If it looks bad to me, I'll just go buy new ones and reapply. Photos to follow, but probably not for a week or so.

Red bike debadged. I did it the first week I owned it, kept the tank stickers as they look pretty good imo, plus the whole clear coat issue.

I don't think removing some stickers is going to reduce the resale value, and if it does it would be by such a minimal amount it doesn't really matter.

I got rid of the 250 stickers (dont like gawkers) and kept the wings. No one knows bikes. People ask me all the time if its a 1000...I always let em know its a 250. I have no insecurities.

There are people that know nothing and people that know the engine is measured with a number and that 1000 is good. Even most sport bikers are surprised its not a 4/5/600. And every so often another biker hits it on nose and says thats the new honda with envy.

It is a 250, looks like a 250, small like a 250, sounds like 250, goes like a 250,
Nobody would mistake it for anything else. exept maybe a 125/150

Wear it loud and proud.

The only stickers I took off (that I made a thread about) were the ones for idiot-proofing on the tank. The goo gone left residue that I thought I got off with more goo gone. However, with the right level of light and the correct angle I can still see of smudge. BAH. Time for more goo gone?

I like the red "R" on the side sticker, it offsets the black I feel. But hey, stealthing your bike out is purty cool. I'm going to try to murder the rest of my bike out.

I totally agree! It is still feels/looks/rides like a 250 even without the stickers. LOL! I just like a tidy black look. I rode with 15+ riders on 600's, 1000's last week and I got a special mention after the ride on the group ride forum for "killing" the twisties on my little 250. :) I'm proud of my lil' 250!

Eh, I didn't take off the stickers to hide the fact that it's a 250. I love my little 250! I just think it looks cleaner without those cheap looking decals. Call em a nerd, but I'm seriously thinking the Autobots emblem would look sweet on either side of the bike...
