you son of a bitch...

I pay $1400 annual with a $2000 excess if I need to claim..
(NRMA NSW)
20y/o with recently suspended licence.

insurance is almost not worth having at all in my circumstances.

that was the best choice I had.
all the other companies were offering $2500 annual + 1000 excess for me.

for a $6000 bike - they fuckin stupid I tells ya

That's pretty good. Wanted to go with Swann too but the quote I got was over $400, so I went with SGIO instead at $260/annum. Cover not as good though, like no protective clothing cover. Same abs model btw bought this July, locked garage, no accidents, etc. Agreed value at base price only, 35 yrs old. Age I guess is the main determining factor for how expensive one's premium gets...
I grabbed insurance with Honda when I bought the bike, Subwritten by Swan

$456 a year, free pay by the month.

$5990 insured value
27yo
Full rating 1 no at fault claims
2500 post code
Learner rider

$600 total excess inc new rider excess

I bolted on $500 helmet cover and also comes with a standard $2000 gear cover.

Only down side is to bump up my agreed value I need a new policy :(

But for a new rider in a higher risk area the excess and quote are one of the cheapest. Insure my ride was $10 cheaper, but the excess was going to be $2000.

Also can have un listed riders and 100% usage cover

I got similar deal as AUfitt, but $400 for my wife who is 32 and on her learner liscence..
Organized through Honda on pick up.. $400 excess..
Ok I can tell from this, insurance has gone down heaps in the decade or so since I had Insurance.. I didnt even Insure bikes 3x this price as they were $1-2000 even being a 20 yrs licence holder back then and in my 30's. with no claims, all the bikes Ive written off were just out of insurance ...D'oh lol.

But.. loss of licence, claims, less than 5yrs full licence holder etc all hit hard.
And Age seems to be the biggest factor of all.

I wasnt even goin to bother insuring this lil cbr but at $18 per month may as well.
Insurance IS bettin ya gonna have an accident right!?

If anyone want to play with instant online quotes~

I want to do the the old RZ500 too but as its approaching 30 yrs old will have to go to Shannons , Redbook Value is about 10% of what I could get for it.. not it will be sold in this lifetime thats for sure.
