Teach a newbie about stands. I figured I will need a set of stands.

I am thinking the ones which go under the wheel and you push down on them.

Front and back

means I need some attachments for the stand.

Does Yosh make these attachments for our bike? and what stands are really good :)

You don't need spool attachments unless your bike will be sitting on the stand for storage or multiple hours. Just get a swingarm stand. Many stands have attachments for spools and the swingarm too

If you're on a budget, or would just rather spend some of your money on other cool stuff, CycleGear has a decent rear stand for about $45.00. It works with both spools, and for bikes like the CBR without spools, under the swing arm on rubber blocks. It does the job.

+1 for cyclegear's "trackside stands"... picked up both front and rear for $90 a few weeks back. They're on sale every now and then @ $45 a piece, full price is $90 each however.

Look for the existing forum. Trex is the best deal for spool with mount. 58$ on eBay. Yoshimura option suck because they use the chain tensioner to mount. They also cost more. Bicycle drivetrain part Bicycle part Tire Disc brake Automotive tire

Recommend a triple tree for the front as the pinch bolt is close to the end and doesn't allow the pin in deep enough. Land vehicle Vehicle Motor vehicle Motorcycle Automotive tire

+3 on the Trackside stand form Cyclegear. I got the front and rear on sale for $90. They work with or without spools, and feel solid, sturdy, and durable. Best bang for buck IMO.

I have Pit Bull stands. US-made, solid, flexible. Not inexpensive.

+1 on Pit Bull, but only because I have other bikes that are heavier. If all you're going to lift is the CBR, a cheaper alternative is fine. Get spools, they're sturdier.

Pit Bull is cheap compared to the Two Brothers ones. Holy cow that's expensive for a stand.
