Hello, bought myself a used motorcycle a week ago. It is really in a good condition and everything works only one thing gives me a little bit to think about and that is, if I start the bike and I am in neutral and I don't give 2-3 light gas blasts then the engine dies off. But I don't have that problem when I'm standing at the traffic light and I'm in neutral, that means the whole thing really only happens when I start the bike. Does anyone have any idea why that might be?

Start by checking the air filter and possibly the spark plug. No telling when they were last checked or replaced before you bought the bike.

I would look inside the tank to see if you have any rust or debris that could black the fuel pump pick-up. From what we have seen, that type of thing will kill a pump.

Make sure the gas is fresh, and add a fuel system cleaner.

Any time you buy a used cycle you need to look everything over and do all the maintenance. Just assume nothing has been done by the previous owner, and most of the time you will be right.
