I think something is wrong with my 2011 250 - no abs.
when i engage the front brake, The rear light works.
When i do it for the Rear brake, the light wont come on.
is this normal? called the dealer, they just said it normal now am all confused on how other motorcycle works when the rear brake is engage and their rear lights works.

Sounds like you might have to adjust the rear brake. In the manual, there is a page on how to adjust the brake when your light isn't coming on. But yes!!! Your light should be coming on when you depress the rear or front brake. Whoever you talked to at the dealer..is an idiot.

check the wire under rear seat.
Adjusting that can get the light ok

^^^ yep. just adjust the light and you should be good. same thing happened to me. The light would only come on if I jammed the rear brake.

Did it on my bike a few weeks ago when I noticed brake light not working from the pedal during a walk around. You know, check if the turn signals work, if the brake lights work, headlight, oil level, air in the tires, no nails/screws in the tire... worth doing once a week or so.

need to adjust your brake light switch..i adjusted mine so i could push a tad with my foot and and light up the brake light to get punks off my tail without actually having to brake and slow down
