Well Charlene is in for her first service. It was the first CBR250r they were doing service on, but they new everything they had to do. When they listed off all the right things it made me feel a lot better.

Got a call from them that they found a small oil leak in the shifter mechanism and had to order part. Bummed I won't have her back for a few more days, bit I'm glad it'll be covered under warranty.

now how do I deal with the separation anxiety.....

My dealership said it doesn't need a valve clearance inspection for a few thousand miles... which means I'll be taking my bike somewhere else.

Azul, where did you take yours?

the situation is made worse by the fact that my M4 street slayer and my service manual showed up today. Dealer ordered the required parts today, but said it would be a few days till Charlene is ready for the roads again :(

I'll have to pass the time reading moto-porn and dreaming of the open road.....:D

Azul, aren't you tempted to take the new exhaust in and have the dealer install and reset the ECU, or you just gonna do it yourself?

I am tempted, but I know they would probably charge me their hourly rate, and I know I could do it no problem.

though now I think about it, it can't hurt to call them and ask if they could throw it on for the same price as the service.

You never know til you ask. Let us know what they want to charge you for it, if you end up calling. Then she would be ready to go as soon as you pick her up, with the ECU reset, just incase that really helps with a new slip on.

Talked to the shop and they would do it but charge me for 1 hour of labor ($70). I'm going to do it myself once i get Charlene back.

brought her home tonight, felt good to be back in the saddle. Valves did need to be adjusted, but everything else checked out ok. Stock exhaust seems slightly louder than before....but that is about to get much louder with the street slayer

Nope. The hardest part was waiting for the part. Once they got the part the bike was done that day. It was the shift shaft seal that was leaking oil.

standard service is $199. it was another hour of labor for the shaft seal fix. after all the taxes I was out the door for just over $300

yes it was covered. I meant to say it was another hour of labor for the valve check.
