So i've decided to change out the factory yellow h4 for a set of 8k hid's. Install took about 45mins to clean up the wiring and tuck the ballast. I also changed out my driving lights without removing the fairings.

Just to let u know it's not the bi-xenon light to save on space. Its a twin bulb setup Lo/Hi (HID/halogen)

No point in using the HiBeam now because the low beam is brighter. Ballast is mounted inside the right fairing between the fairing and inner plastic. Im sure some of you will want to see pics so i'll post them later.

Next light mod will be the integrated rear light.

Ok the first image shows the bulb itself... longer one is the lo beam HID the smaller one is the hi beam HALOGEN. Its setup like that for those who dont want to run a bi-xenon kit. (more wires and a relay for the shield the blocks the bulb)

Confusing i know but u just cant add voltage to an HID bulb for a highbeam which is why most aftermarket HID companies make a twin bulb setup

The bi xenon kit is a single bulb with a servo to move a reflector for a highbeam look. I did have to remove the side fairing only to make a clean install. However it can be done without removing the fairings. If there is any pics needed from my install let me know and i'll be more then happy to help.

@Dirty: u will need to wire in a relay since your hid is a bi xenon.
@nor-cal cbr 250r: it can be done with patience just makes mounting ballast easier
