So i have a 2013 cbr250r. The original diode broke down and i have tried on replacing it with a 6v zener, 5v 7v 9v and no result. What should be the voltage read for the pink wire? 9v? If so, which zener diode should i use?
Zener diodes can be connected 2 different ways. One will work, other will not.
1. Do you have any photos of original diode in original ignition-switch (even after it died is OK).
2. Do you have any photos of replacement diodes you installed to replace original?
3. Where are you measuring voltages?
Let's do this test:
KEY OFF
measure voltage at points 1, 2, 3
measure resistance between 2 & 3
KEY ON
measure voltage at points 1, 2, 3
measure resistance between 2 & 3
