CBR250R Exhausts

The bike isn't even out yet, but it appears like a few European exhaust companies have gotten their hands on the CBR250R to develop some systems for them. Check it out, they all make the CBR sound like a dirtbike because of the single cylinder:

Termignoni:

Remus (this one really makes it sound like a thumper!):

Bizumo (not sure if we get this brand in the US):

This sounds like a Chinese exhaust company. Not sure:

Which do you guys like?

@RedLine Is that with the stock exhaust? I reach 156 with the stock:D

I will be doing the exhaust mod last( Even tho I want it so BAD! ) as I don't feel there is enough information on the current exhaust systems I don't mind sound/look too much but more on performance and quality. Moriwaki where I am is 1.3kusd:confused: lol and Akrapovic is $950 hopefully when I'm ready I will just order one from Bio since its almost half the price:eek:

Yes, it's with the stock exhaust, I put eight holes in the airfilter cover - not the actual airfilter but the cover on the airbox, and reset the ECU. I also have the Honda touring windscreen which helps deflect wind up and over yer body. So maybe those help.

I'm 175cm and 75kg, and the bike has 19,000km on it. With new Pirelli Sport Demon tyres.

Not sure if any of those make any difference, but as it's the fastest I've been able to take it, previous was 160kph, something must. I did notice it was easier to get to the higher speeds - the high 150s with the touring screen on. Before it would almost always top out at around 155kph.

I find the wind and air conditions make a big difference to what speed it tops out at though.

Will also add that the bike feels amazingly stable and secure when pinning the throttle for an hour at a time. It just glides along in the high 150s effortlessly, you could almost take out a book and have a read.

I bought a LeoVince exhaust for about 250 Euro. Now I drive a Japanese beauty with the sound of a Norton Manx. To loud for such a fragile motorcycle. But impressive it is.
Can you explain that a bit more? I put on a cheap Thai made full system and it made the whole bike vibrate to the point it felt like every bolt was going to pop out.

I'm thinking of getting a Yoshi slip-on but not sure if it will have any negative affects such as extra vibration. What did you notice with the Leo Vince?

The system you put on did it mount in the same places? Most of the ones i have seen only seem to bolt on at the engine then nothing until the muffler strap.

they should have a tab to bolt onto the frame as well.

I think I could pull it to 160 I only tried once to top it out my bike still has 1.2K  only started going fast after the first 1k service, I will do some more test when I get the time also waiting on a friend with ninja so I can mess around with him :D He thinks the CBR is like the megelli 250 can't wait to show him:rolleyes:

A Custom bike shop nearby has the new cbr full biker set and the Akra Slip on he only told me that his bike goes 138km... on 4th gear! He said hed let me try it so looking forward to that.

Edit: Forgot to mention i am 175cm and 61kg

No it didn't. I just checked today and you're correct. The stock downpipe connects to the frame an inch or two before the muffler is bolted onto it.

May well have been that, thanks.

Just thinking though, do any of the proper, big name companies attach their full system to it? (yoshi, 2bros etc). Hmmm.
The Arrow front pipe does connect to the frame before the slip on.

as seen here

So does the (not released yet) Akrapovic optional header pipe.

It also has a separate flange and sleeve that bolts to the engine first then is retained with springs to allow for expansion.. but my guess it wont be cheap.
Who here has the Arrow exhaust? Do you like it, power/weight? It seems to have a better dyno curve than the rest of the sip ons.

There is a used slip on for sale on ebay.
So a few weeks ago i bought the Yoshi SS exhaust on my bike. I Paid $380 AUD to get it shipped to my door. It was relatively simple to fit myself just reading through their instructions.

The sound is amazing, fairly loud (so it depends on how much you want to stand out) but i love the sound, doesn't sound like a dirt bike, but sounds really beasty.. Highway driving or anything over 100km/h may get a bit annoying, maybe some earplugs..

As far as noticeable performance changes, there's not a great deal, i think the bike is easier to maneuver now, as the stock exhaust was much heavier, so i suppose theoretically it should accelerate a bit quicker with just the weight shed..

Before fitting the exhaust i could hit 138km/h on a patch of road (according to speedo) and exacly one week later on the same patch of road (with the new yoshi) i hit 150km/h..

That's my experience..
Awesome!
Where'd u get it from? 380 sounds great! I thought they were heaps more
Btw I'm in sydney
I got my Yoshi slip-on before Christmas from Bikebiz in Parramatta (im in Syd too) for $460AUD.
I could've ordered it from Biohazard for around $400, but im an impatient bastard and didnt want to wait for delivery.

Without the silencer its too loud imo, the silencer only muffles it little bit but it gives it a nicer roar.

Other things I noticed was compression decrease as you get off the throttle and little bit more manouverable.
That's where I just ordered my bike from :)
Are you happy with the yoshi? I've heard they are loud as fcuk!
I thought about maybe going for this one instead...
CBR250R MORIWAKI ZERO SS TITANIUM ANO (FULL EX) - Merchandise and Accessories Catalogue
Anyone heard them before?
The Yoshi is loud, compared to stock, but i think most of those slip ons would sound more or less the same.

The Moriwaki, looks nice, but personally its too bloody long.

If you want to hear it in person, I'll be more than happy to show ya.
I work right next to Redfern station. Pm me for details ;)
hey guys ... I got my CBR fitted with Yoshi J77 stainless steel carbon fiber tip slepone and have dine about 6000 kms with it. The exhausts were pretty loud and I had to get a dB killer fitted too later on. :D
But that sounds beefy and loud. Way way better then the stocks. Weighin only 2.9 kgs they shed a lot of weight off the bike (guess around 3 kgs as stocks are ~6.5kgs)

Like the sound when I rip it ... awesome ...
IMHO, the beast bang for the buck is the M4. For both the CBR and EX.
Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of going for the yoshi slip-on.

How new is your bike? It takes a while for the bike to loosen up. In the beginning I took it up 135kph, then 145, then 155, yesterday I hit 161kph indicated.

To me the biggest hurdle to speed is wind. On the same road I can take it to 155, then 2 days later it will only hit the high 130s due to strong wind.

Fascinating thread. You guys are true DIYers ...

BTW, I have checked a few speedometers against my GPS and found that most of them indicate 10% too high. That's four Honda Phantoms, a VStrom DL650, my CBR250R, and a friend's 2009 CBR150. A rented Versys was closest to right on with a reading only a few percent too high. (Aside: my old 1993 Toyota Camry's speedo and odometer are dead on.)

Strangely enough, the odometers on two of the Phantoms and my CBR250 (I can't speak about the others) indicate the identical distance as my GPS -- the odometers are accurate to a tenth of a mile but the speedometers read high. I'm wondering if that's somehow intentional? It seems that if they can produce an accurate odometer then they should sure as hell be able to make accurate speedos.
Has anyone bought/installed the hot bodies mgp slip on yet?
