just because its new doesn't mean it couldn't use some lubei dont think is the chain because i put a new one at the 8,000mile breakdown ....
hey WynneSounds like the chain to me too, though it's difficult to tell on my computer. Why did you change it at 8k? Did you change the sprockets when you changed the chain? How often do you lube it? I'd check the tightness of your rear engine mounting too, it looks like it's loose to me. The gap between the engine and the mount seems to open and close as you accelerate through the gears.
Amen to thatjust because its new doesn't mean it couldn't use some lube
a single will have a lot more vibes/rattle then multi cylinders, lawnmowers for example lolheard a WR250X drive-by today and it kind of sounded "rattlelly" to me ....
... and that's the 1/4 of a R1.
maybe all FI 250's rattle.... just saying

thanks for indirectly saving my life Wynne ... that engine bolt was loooooosePlease DON'T ride the bike until you've checked the mounts. Look carefully at the second vid you posted at the right side of the rear of the gearbox, where it mounts to the frame. The gap between it and the frame keeps opening and closing as you accelerate and change gear. There shouldn't be any gap at all there, it should be bolted up tight. The mounting bolt is definitely loose, or the nut may have fallen off.![]()
