How cold is winter over there?
I'm on the southwest coast (500km south of Perth), its 15 outside right now (12.45am.)

But inland 200km north of here at the farm last weekend (near where my local track is) it was 8' degrees morning and a top of 12' degrees... I froze!
Then it drops to 1'-2' in winter with a top of 10- 11' daytime June/July/August

Only 3 months ago I was melting my std tyres in 40 degree heat.
Those Tyres Hopmix has work better the harder you push them.
No good for street riding tho.

Wow, those look toasted. Are they shot now or can you still use them and just scub off all the shredded up parts? I notice the grooves are still pretty deep though so I'd imagine they're still good to go.

On this bike depending on how hard you ride you could do a whole season.
Race pace prolly go through 2-3 sets in a season.
This is my first season though so nOt 100 percent sure.

When I was racing a SV650 a few years back, I would get 2 days out of a set. I found the full slick and the DOT slicks were about equal in mileage before they'd turn to snot. That was when I switched to buying tires online and bought the harbor freight tire changer....

When it comes to chicken strips, not all tyres are equal. Most of my riding is commuting in busy traffic, so I don't get much chance to give it beans. I'm a pretty sensible rider anyway. The chicken strips on the rear IRC on my CBR 250R are huge. I've got a CBF500 courtesy bike, while my CBR is being repaired, after an off. That's got a Continental Road Attack on the rear. It's a much sportier profile. The chicken strips on that are less than a centimetre wide, that's with exactly the same riding as I do on my CBR. So my conclusion is that your chicken strips can look like a road racers if you buy sporty tyres, even when gently commuting. ;)

Good god Aufitt!! You're the man! It takes some serious skills and balls to de-chicken strip a front tire like that! You must be laying that thing on the ground. LOL I'm surprised that the stock IRC's have that kind of traction to lay them over that far. I always feel like they're about to slip even at about a 45* angle. Guess that's what makes me a newb! LOl
