Hello all!
My name's Quintin - I'm a 23 year old web designer and developer born in Pretoria, South Africa and based in Cape Town, South Africa. Great to be here!
Just a quick introduction to me and why I'm here:
I moved to Cape Town in late 2010, and I live in the area known as the Southern Peninsula. I'm fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful parts of my country - beaches, cliffs, hills with dense forests, mountains peppered with caves and ravines, forests and bush, amazing surf and some of the most incredible sunsets you'll ever see. It's the perfect place to live for an aspiring landscape photographer (yours truly).
Being quite young and without reliable transport available, I haven't been able to get out and really get to know the area. At the end of last year, I had this vision of me coasting along the cliff roads on weekends with my camera strapped to my back. I haven't been able to get that image out of my head since... and soon it'll be a reality.
Within the next week or so, I'll be putting down a deposit on a brand new black 2011 Honda CBR 250R - my first ever bike. I've done the research, learned the pros and cons, investigated brands, talked to friends who are also bikers and decided that the Honda's will be the best bike for me. Easy on the beginner rider, light and agile, good fuel economy, great looks and powerful enough to mean I won't outgrow it for at least three years.
As mentioned, it's my first bike. I'm an absolute beginner. So I thought it best to find a place to get advice and support on this new adventure.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and being part of this community... and once I'm mobile, I hope to share some of my photography here as well!
Here are some photos of my home, taken in 2009:
