Here are a few pics of the bag on the 250. I will post a review once I have some usage time with it. Until then, it seems very nice, and decent looking on the bike. The only issue I can see with it so far is the bungee cord rubbing on the silver painted part of the tail. I will probably put on some kind of protective film when I also put on my tankslapper kit. Oh, and if you're short, like me, you'll have to do some kind of exaggerated kick boxing maneuver to get your leg over the bag when you mount the bike.

dont like it,just my opinion,think i will wait for somthing made of hard plastic to match the rest of the bike.

Thanks for the pics. I think I'll bungee a big duffle to the back seat of mine (when I get it) using the same hook points.

IMHO, the lack of 'safe' bungee hooks in the rear is the one design shortcoming of this bike. Having the plastic tail section stick out where bungee cords are going to rub is the second flaw. I'll be using some clear plastic protector on mine, as you mentioned...

A flawed bike in the hand is worth 2 in the dreams.. I can't wait to get mine !

A definite shortcoming; it's good to have a bike that is a great ride. It would be better to have a bike that is practical as well. It would have been so easy to achieve, with little more attention to function rather than just form by the designers.

On all the bikes I have owned it has been easy to just bungee stuff on, without any need to muck around with finding, purchasing and fitting special luggage.

It is a factor that will come into play when I am back in the market for a bike, in a year or so. It would be nice if Honda designers could do something about it by then.

doesnt look too bad,i dont like the hard plastic compartments,i saw a ducati parked outside of winco with 3 hard plastic compartments,1 on the tail,and 1 on each side..didnt even look like a sports bike at first.

I like it, I would re-rig the bungees. The front bungees I would take down to the passenger peg frame. And the rear I would get out of the fender. I would try going around the handrails and over the tail light housing or around the handrails then to the front of the bag to use the bungee length. I have a lee parks bag, it is boxy, but the same type of mounting.

Nice looking bag, but the bungees make it look like an afterthought. Why not take advantage of those open ended passenger grabs and put two tunnels on the bag bottom to slip over them?

Tank bag?

Has anyone tried a magnetic tank bag on their 250r yet? I was wondering about getting a cortech mini tank bag but wondered how it would fit on this bike

I got the tail, saddle and I put the magnetic mini tank bag on mine. The tank bag fits great but make sure its just the mini. Looks good in my opinion and I can carry loads of stuff now.

I've got the same bag, and had the same issues with straps hitting the bodywork. Tried some heavy clear soft plastic to keep it from rubbing - flapped in the wind and messed up the paint worse!

I found that removing the rear seat and attaching the bag directly to the seat worked better. I adjusted the bungies so the hooks could all be hooked together snugly under the rear seat pan and then re-attached the seat.

Worked a lot better for me.

I agree, this is the way to go..
I have a joe rocket tail bag and when I first got it I thought the velcro straps were made too short so added more length to it with a couple more strips of velcro so it would attach under the rear tail.

.then one day I realized the short straps were designed to hook under the rear seat..not under the tail...so now I just pop the seat..hook it. re-attch seat..It is actually more stable cuz the seat being closed down helps hold it even tighter

I have a Cortech Super Mini tank bag and just love it. It is well made and has the best base material I have seen on a tank bag. It will not scratch the tank. The magnets are strong and there is a row of them on the base of the bag as well, so it does not jiggle around. It is 6.5 liters and fits the bike perfectly. You can still tuck down behind the windscreen which is really important IMHO. I use that along with a Fieldsheer expander tailbag, which also fits perfectly, and does not scratch anything.

I have the same tail bag and I've been using it for commuting, rain or shine. It's been working great. I also got the matching saddlebags for going on long trips. I tested it by doing a grocery run. I can fit almost 2 grocery bags of per compartment. Pretty good.

Anyway, going back to the comment on lack of rear bungee hooks. I thogh of doing the same as the OP, hooking it underneath the tail. but then it will get all nasty from riding. and then the bungees would retract back into the bag, geting the inside dirty. No good. So I hook the rear bungees to 2 metal connectors behind the license plate. seems to work well for me.

Also, the front bungees do rub against the body work. I thought after sometime, it would rub thru the clear coat and eat thru the paint. So I put a couple of layers of 3M heavy duty packaging tape at around the area. It's clear so you can't even tell. Once it gets worn and dirty, just peel it off and put on another layer. Problem solved.

I have used that bag many times. Very handy for day trips, and long trips, when added with other luggage.
