Ok so a few of you on here have wanted me to do a diy on my fender. I will say I took pictures after I did everything and not durning but I will lay it out the best I can. I did this awhile ago so it mostly from memory forgive me if I make some mistakes.

First take off the panel underneath the fender its held in by two clips that you can push in and pull out. Once the panel is off unhook the wiring remember where they go pretty easy sense they are color coded. Then your going to want to take out your turn signals. And I believe the fender should come out if im not mistaken if you took out the center bolt behind the license plate bracket.

Now your going to want to take out the reflector and license plate light there are four screws.

Now that it is off you can take the light out.
There are two nuts that need to come out and the light itself. Also a rubber seal which you will put back on bolting it back to the fender.

Next cut the fender I screwed this up cause I wanted to go around the center bolt but was not paying attraction you don't need to cause the turn signals hold it place but its not a bad idea.

Your going to use the center bolt at the bottom of your license plate bracket.

Moving to the bracket. Your going to make some cuts. Make sure to measure the length you need so the bracket doesn't show past your license plate but not to short that you cant put your plate on.

End result for the bracket ignore my holes in the center I didn't end up needing them.

Bolt everything back together I only used the center bold for the bracket with some lock tight on the bolt it holds you will see that once you have the bracket on there are two holes on the top that match up with the plate. You could bend the bracket a little and drill those holes and get some machine head bolts to make the bracket a little more secure but I have put over a 1000 miles on the bike since I did this and it hasn't moved at all.

End result.

Had my hand in my own DIY, although I did make brackets for the turn signals, and used some LEDs I had left over for the license plate light.

That looks awesome guys! Thanks for the DIY I'm going to look into this next week for mine...couldn't decide on a eliminator kit but if it can be done from the stock parts then why not!?

What kind of paint did you use for the heat shield Shifty?

Thanx sooooo mutch for this. The two things I disliked the most about the stock CBR250R was the tail and exhaust. I followed your instructions and got er done. I still want to eventually go with a Hot Bodies Tail tidey, but I really think I like this just as much. Might even just keep it this way.

If only our bikes in Australia have those brackets for the licence plate. They bolt directly on to the plastic part. So no number plate.
