Hi all,

I've got a replacement matching ignition barrel, fuel cap lock and seat lock, to replace the current ones (as their keys have been lost). I'll have to take the tank into the locksmiths to get it open, but won't bother getting a key made. I tried picking it with an eBay lock picking set, and got what seemed like all of the wafers binding, but no luck. (Not interested in drilling it out).

However, I was wondering if the ignition barrel needs to be unlocked in order to be removed so I can swap it?

In my opinion in this case should in addition to disassembling the top bridge, you should approach from below and loosen the two screws of the switch(Part number 15). Then the top bridge is comming out and the switch is released from its place. The access to the two screws is a bit inconvenient, but I think it is possible.

In the attached diagram, the screw is marked part number 15
