Dudeman is gone. I warned him and he wouldn't listen.

There's going to be some more people gone. You guys are supposed to be adults, but I have to wonder how many of you are 14-year-old posers. The mods are sick and tired of having to be bus monitors for elementary-school behavior.

There's several members on the short list. When you disagree with someone, you resort to petty put-downs and relentess badgering, in an obvious attempt to provoke a reaction. You're Internet bullies with your snide comments about things like whistles and playing cards, and even though some of you have made valuable contributions to this site, it's all for naught - your irresistable outbursts make serious riders wonder how old you are.

If you can't limit yourselves to a mature discussion that includes disagreement without middle fingers, please find another forum. There's plenty of them out there, where every discussion evolves into a argument about whose mother is better in bed. There are still people on here that would be more at home in that environment, but they won't be here for long.

If you're seriously offended by the above, I heartily recommend you complain to the administrator. I would also recommend that you delete some of your more egregious posts first, but I have plenty of them backed up.

I suspect the list includes anyone who ever attempted to correct DudeMan's idiocy. My name would be top of that list, followed by Aufitt, MotoMike, and a half dozen others I'm sure.

<- Most thankful, most thanked member of the forum here... I've contributed a lot in my short time here- including stating my concern for DudeMan's safety, which is what made me an enemy to him. I didn't share his ideas that a n00b could be an expert. I'm an expert, but I'm No Expert!

So... lets take this for what it is, and move on... and if you don't like it, there are other forums.

Since this thread is about Dudeman being gone and since it was started by a Mod., I feel that I can talk about this without fear of repercussions:

First off, I didn't see (but I wasn't looking very hard, either) any one thing that I would have banned Dudeman for. However, he does have a knack for stating some pretty bonehead things and then defending them in the face of all logic and then when he realizes he was wrong, states that we didn't understand his original comment. This is pretty annoying and probably helped make him a lightning rod for jokes, flames, and other nasty comments. The cumulative effect of these comments could have lead to him being warned, then banned--I have no idea if this is the case, I'm just speculating.

I'm not a moderator here (I would be terrible at it) and so I don't get a vote that counts on Dudeman's ban. None of the rest of us do, either. The moderators have a job to do which, I think, is to keep the forum on topic, and relatively cordial. Our job, IMO, is to contribute useful and even not-so-useful ideas and comments that inform and entertain each other. For what it's worth, I thought Dudeman excelled at the entertainment side, but completely failed on the information side, but again, its the moderator's call here and, even though I disagree in this case, I figure that they're doing the best they can to keep this forum on task so I have no problem with the decision.

I actually don't understand why DudeMan would be banned. He tried repeatedly to not respond to provocation. He understandably lost patience and fired back every now and again, but he was criticized FAR more than he did the criticizing. Then again, I don't really dislike anyone here, either. It's still nicer than a lot of other forums out there. With 250 folk, every one is just trying to have a good time on their bikes.

There are ways to correct misinformation and disagree without appearing arrogant or condescending. With dudeman gone, it will only be a matter of time before the "editorial staff" of CBR250r picks a new target for their attacks. Hopefully, that person will be old enough to understand what they are and ignore them.

Sniper, this isn't a "democracy". If it were, it would have dissolved into anarchy a long time ago. Your comment "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." is especially ironic, since the only reason it got this bad is because the majority of members just click past the BS.

And, as I said earlier (and many times before)... If you're unhappy, feel free to write the administrator (user: Administrator) and explain to him where the current mods have erred and how you could do a much better job. Currently, I'm weighing the time spent babysitting you guys against the same time used for work or riding, and I'm having trouble with the math.

Amen brother.

And that, right there, is why I've told you that I wouldn't wish Moderator status on my worst enemies. It is a never-ending, thankless job.

But thank you anyway for persevering.

Luke, you and the other moderators/administrators have what must seem an often thankless task. I declined an offer to help moderate another forum, citing my unwillingness to devote the necessary time. I know it isn't easy, but I don't know how difficult and time-consuming it must truly be.

Thank you, and also to your fellow leaders on this forum.

i understand that "mods" are people just like me that help out on internet land .... for FREE

Thank YOU Luke for helping out ...
....but i figure'd that it would be YOU to stand up and say: im not banning Dudesquid , if you don't like him , ....JUST IGNORE HIM !!!

i can care less about anyone .....

....but i do care about MY Freedom.

some people that hated on dude could have just PM'd him some hate mail but they would rather hate on him in public so that others follow.

they hate on purpose ...

....is their job in life :(

BTW-we live in America

Well done Luke. It's about time some heads were banged together on this forum. I for one, was getting sick of trawling through page after page of bull***t, snide remarks and insults. It just makes this forum a tedious place to be. It seems to me that we are free to say what we wish on this forum, within reason, but some on here just abuse that freedom, and think it's OK to go round insulting and belittling others, from behind the safety of a keyboard. If folk can't treat each other with respect, then they should face the consequences. Good on yer. ;)
