Sorry to hear that. Glad there was no injury to you and only minimal injury to the bike. Just remember the next time your in gravel slow and subtle movements. It may sound like a dirt bike but it doesnt handle the no-road like one!
n1, you can go a good bit beyond 65 on the cbr250, you just need to tuck in and lay on the gas tank to avoid the wind. However I would avoid the highway for at least the first 300 miles and/or until you feel more comfortable on the bike in general.
