I have a 2011 Honda CBR 250R and was changing my oil. I put 2 quarts of oil in instead of 1.5 and had an issue after riding it for about a half hour. The engine wouldn’t hardly run and a loud clicking started. I have drained some oil out and the engine seems to run fine, but the loud clicking has not been fixed. How can I fix this issue? Did I blow a gasket or something? Or a seal from the oil? Any suggestion will help please.

Did you change the filter as well?

If so, were you careful to install it correctly? It can be put in backwards, which starves the engine of oil.

Hopefully that's not it...

Yes, I changed the oil filter and realized I installed it backwards. The damage is already done. I wonder if I can fix the engine or if I need to buy a new one and install.

Rats! I was hoping that wasn't it...

Sorry to say not good news.

Typically finding a good used engine is more time/cost efficient.
