It's been two weeks to the day since the papers were signed and I finally got to ride my bike home.
It was quite interesting. My last bike was a Buell so my very first impression was "Wow, this bike really is slow & gutless". Then after a few miles the engine loosened up a touch and I got into the flow of it and started to really enjoy the smooth little engine.
Once I got out of town and into the twisties I realized this bike has the potential (once broken in) to be as much fun as the Buell was. Perhaps more so if some one like Racetech markets cartridge emulators for the forks.
I noticed that going 65 on this bike gives me the exact same feeling I got going 95+ on the Buell. This is a very good thing and I'm liking it a lot.
This is exactly the bike I need at this time in my life. Affordable, fun and sane.
The brakes were surprisingly better than I expected them to be and the stock tires have decent grip. Not a bad choice at all for stock rubber.
I heard some people complain about vibration but compared to the Buell and the Sporty before that, this bike is vibration free. The fairing is great. With the exception of an EX500 from '87-'92 all my bikes have been naked so the windscreen which may be inadequate for some works miracles for me.
My buddy was joking that this is a scooter that looks like a bike and scooters are like fat chicks. Everyone has fun riding them but nobody wants to be seen on one. He then commented that my bike was a fat chick that's disguised as a super model. I liked that and I think I for the first time in my life have named a bike. I shall call her Little Phattie. She's Pretty, Hot And Tempting
All in all I give it two thumbs up. Thank you Honda for bringing this little gem of a bike to the States
Now I gotta go find the camera and charge the battery. I'll try to take some scenic pics to post in the photo section.
