  • Moderators: This forum does have moderators - if spam or offensive material is posted please flag it and they will be notified.
  • Marketing: Motorcycle and motorcycle-related items can be listed in the proper forums. Non-motorcycle items are generally treated as SPAM. This is open for debate. For instance, (I think) most would not have a problem if a member wants to offer something for sale that may not be moto-related. Drop Luke a PM if you want a mechanism to do things like that.
  • Complaints: There are several moderators on the site. They have considerable discretion about content. I think we all agree that people should be able to converse freely, but we also all agree that some people will abuse that privilege. If you feel that a moderator has removed a comment or been unfair, please PM "Administrator", which is the diety per se for this forum.
  • Closed Threads: When moderators conclude that a thread has veered off into the weeds, it may be closed. Wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth will not get it re-opened.
The goal of any good forum is to restrict the discourse as little as possible, and CBR250.net wants to be a good forum. This should not even have to be said, but the following is not allowed:

  • Porn: A lot of people browse this site from work. If they pull up anything an employer considers pornographic, they could be in trouble. NO PORN - this includes bare breasts as well as thong shots. Important Note: images will be removed as soon as possible after they are found or reported. Note that it is still possible that someone could post something and it is not found/removed immediately. Use the "Report Image" to report any inappropriate images.
  • Racism: There are plenty of sites on the Internet that allow people to expound at length about the intelligence, appearance, or work ethic of people not like them. This is not one of them.
  • Other: This is a motorcycle forum. Obviously, people can and will go off-topic, and there is a place for that. However, if you start hammering someone just because their lifestyle or religion offends you, expect to pay for it.
Depending on what you post, you may get a warning, a temporary ban, or a permanent one.

Have to keep it clean friendly and boring. Now Im going to go over and kick the neighbors dog.
To be recommended.

I stopped by at a place for a drink recently, and the neighbor's dog started baking and growling up a **** of a racket. A pup actually, that had just developed his proper bark, and was keen on using it. I grabbed the sod and sorted it out. The owner came out to defend his little darling. I said that it was about time his dog learned some good manners, and he went away.

Now the dog thinks I am a good fellow, and comes for a pat if I drop by. I don't see anything of the owner. Maybe he needs to be taught some manners too.

Premium member by my own accord - I write software, and it's a piddling amount for the fun I've had meeting other people and learning how they think.

Yes, I'm a mod - and the fact that you weren't sure means two things to me:

  • I'm not being a grammar and/or PC Nazi
  • CBR250.net must attract a better class of people than most sites.
so, Thanks to all! (an W0rm, I love that pic!)

So what languages to do you write in? I'm a fellow computer geek. I develop websites.

In consideration of the number of recent threads which have ended up being closed, I'm bumping this thread as a friendly FIY - reminder to all CBR250.net members. It's my hope that we can all make a concerted effort to 'take the higher road', and help to maintain our forums at the high standards of decorum that we normally enjoy and have come to expect here on this site. :)

Thanks,

Mike

This morning I went through the first few pages of the General Discussion forum, and moved at least 20 threads to other topic specific forums.

Going forward, it would be helpful if members who are starting new threads were to take a moment and look at the other forums and consider whether their new thread might be better placed in one of those topic specific forums, rather than the General Discussion forum. For example, one of the threads that I moved from the General Discussion forum was about saddlebags... obviously such a thread rightly belonged in the Parts & Accessories forum.

Thanks in advance for your help regarding this matter.
