I'm sure it's a nice addon to have on bikes over there. Around here most of the time we don't have to deal with rock/gravel/sand slinging roads. I can't imagine roads over there are very great.

I don't know, we have been very dry here in the south, and this rain is bringing up all the dirt and oil from the road. The water in the gutters looks pretty gross, there was a white, foam-like substance flowing on the surface of the road, and my bike is covered in grit. I will be bathing it this weekend though, so it will be shiny again soon.
