This year as last, Good Friday presented the ideal opportunity to go for a good long ride. My son was away for the weekend, my wife was at work and as I'd been mountain biking the evening before I didn't feel the urge to use the free time for more cycling.
I'd decided to head south west and should have realised that on a bank holiday half the rest of the country would be doing the same. On the major routes every junction of constriction was preceded by long queues of crawling traffic but out in the countryside it was thankfully far quieter.
Total distance about 150 miles.
