Are there any massive cross country sport bike rides that dont have idiots doing wheelies the whole time? No offense sniper.

I would like to do a large group ride, but dont want to be the only sport bike in a group of harleys.

Someone will probably have a more specific answer, but I have found that some to the sport touring groups are pretty tolerant of sport bikes in their midst. Try meetup.com for some grops in your area. I'm in a sportbike group too and the group keeps most safety rules in mind, but they tend to ride REALLY fast on the highway. Good luck, I think you'll find a group out there that suits you. :)

I've rode in group rides. HD, sport bikes, mixture and honestly I find the best group rides are with a few ppl you know. If the group is large enough there will always be the stunters. What's also fun are the times riders form groups while on a ride. That's happened to quite a few times. Cool, really.

non- taken brother , you know im a sucker for free-speech and nothing you can type on your computer can offend me :)

(specially from someone who upholds that freedom)

there is plenty of rides that people go on when there is no "idiots" but most of those rides end up with some one trying to be an "idiot" (stunts/speed/"filtering")

best thing about a riding a motorcycle is that you are in control of your own vehicle , therefore responsible for your own actions .... if you see someone being a "idiot" , just stay away , im sure there is other people on that same ride who are on the same page you are on , stick with them.

recommend a bike night around your area .... link up with a M.C. crew , think the army guys have a few (same with other branches) you'll start riding more with people who are looking to ride the same "way" you do ;)

now , if you refer with the term "idiot" to the stunners only , well the ones i trust to ride with have full control of their motorcycles and do the speed limit (slowing down other riders)...but i've been on rides that people didn't stunt but drove like worst than if we did with some "idiots" doing stunts below the speed limit.

let's just get one thing clear:
real idiots doing power wheelies , speeding , splitting lanes or whatever and a freestyle rider ..NOT THE SAME THING .... just for the record ;)

ride on UnMonk

@SS I agree with you. The bigger the group the greater the occurance of some one popping the dreaded wheelie. If some one is in control, I'd rather ride with them than a rider who excessively and aggressively exceeds the speed limit. They're exhausting to ride with.

End of the day, I'd rather ride alone than with a group that "takes and overtakes" roads and drivers. Over the years I have learned that valuable lesson.

^ this is money $$ ... that's why i advise UnMonk to just go and link up with other riders so he can filter out the idiots.

now when i myself , don't feel like being an "idiot" , i just hang back and keep the "idiots" in front just in case they fall or wreck , i can just go around them :D

...and if the other idiots want to fly to the next meet up , i just ask where we're going before we ride ... is not like they give out a prize for the fist person to reach the spot ;)

BTW-to new riders:
the more you ride , the more you learn.

Don't yearn for a "big group ride". That is just asking for trouble. Limit your group riding to small groups of people you, and they, know quite well. If you want to ask me why I know, I will elaborate, with gory pictures if you like.

Ive been meaning to do my helmet like that for a while. Not sure on the legality of it though, not sure if that would be considered part of the vehicle or not.
might want to take a look at this

helmet EVOLINE SERIE 2 E-TEC LUMI -ST Luminescent EvoLine series2 SHARK Discovery Division SHARK-HELMETS - FRANCE FRANCE - English

Glow in the dark is not illegal around here , might look good with your set-up

with lights you might have to have some sort of power source ...and you probably only hit the lights at night glow in the dark might be the way to go

BTW- you found any bike nights or group rides in your area ?
