Welcome aboard matey. I have the standard non-ABS version, and the brakes are good. They weren't when I first got it, but after a couple of hundred miles, they've bedded in and are very good now. I do think that the Indian version has different callipers to the UK model, and there's someone from India on here that says they're not too good, but that may be just his bike, as no-one else seems to have complained about them. I don't know what the mpg is in kmpl, but I get around 82 mpg. Half my riding is at 30 - 40 mph and the other half cruising at 70 mph. If you can only reach speeds of up to 60 mph, you may be better off with the Honda CBF 125 (Stunner in India) I was averaging 146 mpg on mine and best was 159 mpg. The service intervals are every 2,500 miles on one of those though, but it's easy enough to do yourself. The service intervals on the UK CBR 250R is every 8,000 miles. Hope this helps.
