Hey guys,
Is there a hard luggage setup for the CBR250R? The only one I've been able to find is the GIVI top box, but nothing on the side?
With the top box...is the rear seat still usable for the passenger? Outside of being a gymnast it seems like it's possible to use once it's installed.
Thanks!

I have the givi top box on mine, and the rear seat is perfectly usable. Most people who ride with me don't swing their leg out anyways they just step over the seat so they have no problems getting around the top box. There aren't any specific mounts for the 250 for side cases if you are looking for a hard case, but you could probably get one rigged up if you were willing to put in some $$, time and effort into getting it done. Otherwise soft side bags are a good way to go and Givi has a few that look like they'd fit on our bike. I'd go with the kind that has double straps that go over the passenger seat, or that you can put under the passenger seat and then snap the seat back into place. I'm looking at getting either the T492 or T493 if i can find someone who is still selling them as it seems they are an outdated model that have since been replaced with newer bags that I personally don't think look as good

Illory - thanks but I tried that and came up with the same responses as your link...although I love the response methodology! LoL

Stephen - that's pretty much where my research is going. I'm considering the top box simply for the fact I don't have to take it on/off every single time that I want to go for a ride. Do you know how far back behind the bike it sticks out? I have a shed where the bike sits and I've got some space left behind it but not too much. In pics it looks like it sticks out fairly far.

Thanks for the responses!

Honestly, it only sticks out a few inches beyond the fender (if you haven't gone with a fender eliminator). I will up load a pick in a moment, you can see in it where the mount that attaches to the rack only sticks out as far as the fender, and then the box on top only sticks past maybe 3 inches. Ok I measured it as best I could, and it roughly extends the length of the bike 3.5 inches.

Hmmm...
That big 'ol box may lean a little towards the ugly side but it sure looks conventient.

Being a function over form kind of guy I can see the appeal.

I wont lie and say I think it looks great lol but I would definitely say it looks better from the front/back than it does from the side. And it is EXTREMELY convenient.... I am SOOOO glad I got it. I tossed around the idea of buying a 2nd passenger seat and mounting the givi box to that, but I wasn't sure how i'd like that so I went the rack route

And on a side note... If I ever need more storage I can go buy an Ogio tailbag or another tail bag that sits on the passenger seat and I can have that extra storage where as if I'd mounted it on the seat... I couldn't add a tail bag if I needed to, or If i was going on a long trip and had saddle bags on, I couldn't use the passenger seat to strap down a tent and anything else that was too large and combersome to put in a givi or a saddle bag. I think going with a rack is the way to go if you are going to get a top box, and especially if you are more concerned about convenience than the way it looks.

Stephen - thank you very much for taking time out to take a pic and measure the extra length I highly appreciate it!

I actually just got a sweet deal for some used CORTECH sport saddle/tail bag combo and I confirmed with the seller. I'm going to get this top box as well as it'll be a perfect addition for a quick day trip with the gf so she's not stuck with a backpack and I'm sure the saddle bags would be hard for her to sit along with. As well as daily trips around town where I don't want to muck with the soft bags.

Nice, congrats on the good score with the Cortech gear!
