anyone have an easy automatic off fix
to remove the need to deliberately press
the switch in after every signalling event?

for some reason my brain still isnt reliable
in doing this after every signal to overtake
or turn or change lanes or back again etc..

Try keeping your thumb over the switch while the signal is flashing. After a while it will become second nature to press the switch off... retrain the brain.

I find not indicating/signalling in the first place the easiest way
