Headlight Problem

Hi,

Got a problem with my headlight,
When the low beam lights are switched on, the 2 smaller lights come on but the larger center one does not. however, when the high beam mode is activated all 3 come on with no issue.

Does that must mean the bulb in the center one needs to be replaced or does the problem seem more electrical in nature?

Thanks in advance, Corey

Sounds like the low beam is burnt out.

Yup, just replace the headlight bulb.
Indeed replace that bulb.

When any electrical circuit or apparatus fails or acts erratically, always check
for a loose connection. Headlight bulbs usually have three metal prongs sticking out the
base of the bulb, and the bike has a plug that fits onto the prongs providing power to
either the low-beam filament or the high-beam filament, and also ground.

If the plug is loose or corroded (and corrosion can happen if it is loose) then the
connection may fail and then the light will flicker or else not light at all. All the
metal bits you can see on the bulb and the plug should be shiny.

There is one other precaution. These bulbs run very hot, and the oil from your
fingers could cause heat to concentrate where you touched the glass ... so DO NOT
touch the glass of the bulb. Use a clean glove, but not one that could make your
grip slip.

Good luck!

Hey I'm having the same issue. Just replaced the bulb and nothing came of it :/

Hi, and welcome to the forum. There is no connection between the two electrical circuits. The parking lights that are on both sides of the main lighting do not receive voltage from the main lighting switch (high to low switch). You need to follow the wires and see what caused the electrical disconnection in the parking lighting at low beam, maybe accessories added to the motorcycle cause the malfunction? You need to look at the electrical schematic, follow the wires, and find out what the source of the electrical disconnection is.
