long ago wore single central plait down back, hair flat under helmet..
today, number 2 clipper cut about once a week, easy to wash,
zero maintenance, allows air flow over skin in ventilated helmets
[very cool and nice in summer].. helmet slips on and off easily..

having had long hair, shortish military hair, and number 1 or 2 clipper cut,
long is high maintenance, hard to keep clean, a bloody nuisance,,
typical tidy style has hidden maintenance, demanding to be combed
all the time and be trimmed etc, not to mention hair products..
the self clipped number 1 or 2 cut needs zero maintenance,
then only one short weekly clip, and feels good
all the time...

any hair style,, is merely a variant of the 'comb-over'
which is a product of the brainwashing that goes with
hairstyles generally.. get rid of it and liberate yourself..

all that haircut and product money saved could go
towards a new set of tires or good exhaust system :)

regardless, in winter a nice [thin] beanie does the trick..
fits easily under your helmet and slips back in a pocket..

Before I started riding, I made three personal modifications.
1) Lost 25 lbs.
2) Got a buzzed "cop" haircut at the same shop frequented by the local constabulary
3) Ordered up some new spectacles with the straighter side bows for easier on/off while wearing a full-face helmet

I was going to say a head sock, but yeah, I may as well buy some clippers. I'm turning 59 Saturday, and my mother's father was bald as they come. (Men get their hair genes from their maternal grandfather). Sigh...

Thank god for beards! :)

(today, basically)

I normally have a ball cap nearby. I keep two. One for dirty hair and one for clean hair.

I don't have a lot of hair left but if I cut it too short (grade 4) I get really itchy and fidgetty under a helmet. Grown to a couple of inches it's far more comfortable. Whatever the length, motorcycle helmet hair is never as bad as bicycle helmet hair.
