how much does the first service cost?

called a shop today and talked about getting my cbr250 serviced,

he says he might need to order the filter but can do the rest of the service,then to come back to do the oil change,

i asked him isnt that the main purpose of the service lol..anyways,how much should the first time service cost?

he said around 200-300$..and he said that he doesnt think the valve adjustment is needed on the first service..he said maybe around 16,000 miles...

Actually I believe the valve check/adjustment is the most important part for the 600 miles service. My dealer told me around $200. Said he has the service manual but not the manual that tells them what to charge(?).
He did say they need it over night because the engine has to be absolutely cold to do the valve adjustments.

in that case just load it up on the truck lmao..yep i guess he means the price sheet,what each service costs. hmm well they better check my valves then and not up the price.

They dont change the air filter on the first service. Its the oil filter he's probably talking about.

I wouldnt do a valve check. Especially at under 10k. Unless you are beating the crap out of your engine like its some track bike, i wouldnt worry about it.

You're supposed to have the valves checked at 600 miles per Honda. Next valve check isnt till 16,000 miles.

ive been quoted 350$(200 without valve),280$+parts,210(i believe without valve check) and one shop still doesnt have a price for me...

He obviously hasn't read the CBR250R Owners Manual.

My dealer charges $85/hour for labor. My 600 mile service was $170 (plus parts) to inspect the valves and change the oil and filter; they said it would be another 170 in labor if the valves actually needed to be adjusted. My valves were in spec, so no adjustment was required.

Of course they inspected and adjusted everything else in the 600 mile service checklist for the $170 price. The only 'issue' they had was that they didn't have the oil filter, so they just changed the oil, and will call me back in for another oil/filter change when they get it in (hopefully soon).

he hasnt.i called back and he thought i was talking about a cbr600,his boss called honda to get the parts n service list,he told me 311$+ parts..

i guess the 285$ total sounds the best..though i forgot which shop it was lol

found a dealer with the oil filter in stock,will do the full service for 230$ and the problem was they closed by the time i got there,and i was doing 70-85 the whole way

i maganed to due 92mph on the freeway slightly going uphill..

when i got there,there was a chopper leaving,i believe he worked there,and someone else who worked there who was helping a guy load up up dirt bike,he said there was no way for me to leave the bike there since everything was locked up. so i guess i have to try for tomorrow.

i was at about 5:30 miles..now im prolly at 600-610

Thank god I live in Thailand, (where the cbr 250 is built) my first check,1000 km, was about 250 bath, thats about 7 dollars, oil change and everything, next check after 4000 km

My dealer quoted me $100 when I purchased the bike. I held them to it for the first service. They said the next one they do will definitely be more

My dealer quoted me 130, and I made sure that included valve check. I may give them 10-15 extra for switching it to synthetic, but they're not gettin any more than that.

My dealer quoted me $150 for the first service and I held them to that. I asked twice weather they would do the valve check. I went in for my first service just 2 days back, i take the fairings off yesterday and realized they didn't check the valves. When they open tomorrow, I will sure give them a call!
