Hi folks,
I've got the 5k rattle and would like to try tightening the main tank bolt as it seems to have fixed it for a few people. Anyone got easy steps for accessing it?

My guess is that you gotta remove the front fairings, dash, headlight, etc. Don't have the rattle that everyone talks about so I really haven't looked into it myself.

pull the plastic part foward of the tank off by hand. You need to pull towards the front of the bike NOT up! Then when removed the bolt is right there!

My bolts were in quite tight. I removed the tank and then put it back with the 3 bolts tighten securly. Never any vibrations. Whew

This is the bolt under the front plastic tank cover which if the cover were not included in the original design would enable another half gallon of tank capacity and 35 miles of range and fewer part count and probably cheaper to manufacture?

Is there a purpose for the tank cover?

Tried it but the bolt was already very tight, still rattling.

What about securing the front cowl and headlight assembly with foam and permatex on all the bolts? Ive heard this works for some ppl.
