Well I won't be able to go for a ride way to busy, but todays weather is extremely warm. 91F / 32C. Will be like this for a while. Here in Cape Town, South Africa.
It's 30°F here and the snow has melted some and then refrozen, so riding today would be treacherous . . . and will likely stay treacherous until sometime in March. But I'm used to that here in Minnesota . . . .
SNOW! We have snow and nothing but snow. Enjoyed a couple days of Chinook weather complete with migraine 'cause that's what Chinooks also bring and now entering another cold snap. Which brings more SNOW!! My bike is covered in his bike cozy and plugged into a trickle charger. Should be that way until April. Bloody depressing but that's the way it is living at the base of the Rockies. Good to hear some of you folks can still get out there
I should have worn the fleece liner this morning when I went shopping on the bike.
On the other hand, -21C is getting chilly. Be careful not to get stuck in the middle of nowhere in your 4WD whatever. I used to keep "walking out" gear (Sorels, woolies, etc.) in the truck, even after hunting season ended. Only used them once when I broke through the ice on a beaver pond while tracking an elk.
There was a BMW GS in Minneapolis going north on I94 as we headed south in our Highlander ahead of the bad weather on Sunday. I hope he had good warm electrics. I hope he arrived where he was going ahead of the freezing rain.
39 degrees Celsius in Sydney yesterday and very humid, probably go close again tomorrow. Nothing quite like sitting in peak hour traffic in my fabric gear and boots in that weather.
