I have waited since March & not always patiently for my CBR250RA.
Now I can hardly wait to break it in. What a nice machine!:)
I'd add a picture if I only knew how.

Don't understand

Why do you need to break CBR250RA in?

Is it a stroppy young horse, or an older one you caught from the wild?

Or do you have a new saddle that needs a bit of thrashing?

Whatever it is, all the best with it; don't let it buck you off.
I dont know how you waited that long, good job. I can see you found out, it is worth the wait. Ride safe.
Welcome. I'm having a hard time waiting a week for mine getting serviced. You're a champ for waiting that long
I'm in Pittsburgh and have a red CBR250R, no ABS though so I was able to just buy it from the dealer floor. Where did you get yours?
Ohhhh

It all comes down to semantics.

From wikipedia:

Did you mean: Break-in (mechanical run-in)

Wikipedia does not have an article with this exact name. Please search for Break-in (mechanical run-in) in Wikipedia to check for alternative titles or spellings.

Of course it's semantics, but you're the one that's making a big deal about it.

Holy crap kutter. I remember when it seemed like you and I put our money down at the same time back in March (at least I think), on an ABS. I actually gave up and bought a non abs in May. It stops quickly and very controllably without the ABS and I don't use mine to commute anyway. But if it saves your hide just one time it will be worth it. I will probably get abs on my next bike. I just turned over 2500mi. today. I like it even more than when I first got it. Everything seems to loosen up, sound better, work better etc. the more you ride it. Enjoy! I bet your other old hondas, if I remember correctly, won't be seeing the road too much anymore!

West Hills Honda. They got 3 in all year; one black, one red, and finally my red ABS. Did you buy the red one from there?

You remember correctly CBR-STL. I bought a Yamaha V-Star250 this summer I put 2000 miles on while I waited. I just put it on Craigslist last night. (Have to make my wife happy a bit) Keeping my vintage CM450c while it grows in value. I'll ride it whenever my wife comes with me. No doubles on the CBR.

By "break in" yes I meant mechanical break in. You know that "Avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration" part of what Honda says "to ensure your motorcycle's future reliability and performance" during the first 300 miles. Incidently, the dealer said to limit rpm to 6000 for the first 600 miles. What the manual from Honda indicates is nothing of the sort. Honda says nothing about revving below the redline, just take your time getting there. I babied it the 72 miles I put on it over the weekend shifting at 6K, but read the manual today. Fortunitely, I had been rather easy on the throttle, I think instinctively. I did roll it towards 7k a few times while rolling downhill with low load on it, which is Honda's point. I like this bike, & I know its only going to get better.

Just ordered some new red Cortech Sport bags & tail bag, for when I need them. I think they'll work out fine on my new CBR250RA.

Don't be too worried about doubling up on the new bike. I'm 220 and the wife 150? It actually works pretty well. She really enjoys it. The CBR must be a real treat after the v-star. Of course, I do think after you switch bikes it takes a bit to warm up to the new steed. I like mine more all the time. I gotta figure out a tail bag or something though. I can't even pick up a gallon of milk presently.
Congrat on your new family addition. You've waited a long time and your patience paid off. Wish I new how to post pics cause i'd post my bike with my new exhaust but, alas, 'm learning impaired when it comes to computer savy. Happy trails and many miles of pure riding bliss:D;)
West Hills Honda. They got 3 in all year; one black, one red, and finally my red ABS. Did you buy the red one from there?
Nope. I got mine at Pittsburgh Cycle Center (Honda House). They had two red ones, a guy in North Braddock bought one and then I got the other. I was going to buy the black one at Mosites Motorsports, but it sold before I could get to it and I decided the red was better for visibility anyways.

When I called West Hills back in July when I started looking, they didn't have any at all in stock.
