Wrung out the cb today on Georgia's version of the Tail of the Dragon, and found out there's little she can't do...

Georgia's Dragon - The Suches Loop | Georgia Motorcycle Roads and Rides | MotorcycleRoads.com

Lots of adrenalin moments, and since we ended up there somewhat accidentally, I didn't have the GoPro along to record it... just popped a few phone pics along the way.

As one of the reviewers aptly stated from the above link: "if you don't know your limitations yet, you will by the end of this ride..." Incredible ride... Incredible scenery... Incredible rush...

No, that's not me riding in the vid... I hadn't brought my cam on today's trip (didn't even know we were going to Suches when we started out... actually *stumbled* onto it taking a back road (Route 9) north).

I think that's a CBR litre bike. I just embedded it to show a taste of the Suches loop... The guy that filmed that is actually driving relatively conservatively compared to what I've seen in some other vids.

We'll be heading back up there in a couple weeks, I think, and I'll make sure I have the GoPro in tow...

Blood Mtn? Personally I think it better than the dragon.
Its 2 lanes going up 129 and you can get around traffic.

See any piggly wigglies?

Well... I think it's longer than the Dragon, and double lanes for a good part of it are nice... however, most of the southern tail just before you hit 129 is one lane in each direction, and I *seriously* thought I was going to end up underneath a huge RV (that had NO business being up there), on one of the fiercer hairpins...

If there were any chicken strips on my IRC's before this ride, they're long gone now...

Oh, and yeah -- saw a few wigglies... they were basically leaving everyone alone, from what I could tell... just there to pick up the pieces... ;)

That's a beautiful ride this time of year and in the Fall, especially.

I was up there today and I'll be back there tomorrow. I'm through there 2 or 3 times a week for work--although, I'm in a company car, unfortunately.

Next time you're up that way, if you have the time, when 180 tees into 129 take a left (instead of right), go north a couple miles then take a right onto 180. Take that another mile then turn right onto 348 (Richard Russell scenic highway) a lot of curves and elevation changes. That will eventually take you to Alt 75. At that tee intersection you can turn right which takes you back to 129 or you can turn left which takes you to Helen.

I haven't taken my bike up there, yet. It's been too chilly in the mornings and the traffic starts picking up midday. I hope warmer weather allows me to get out there some early morning, soon.

Hey, that's my Ninja! And with a pristine fairing, straight clutch lever, and functional turn signals/tail light too! I miss those days...
