Has anyone tried using this type of paint for our windscreen WITHOUT removing he unit?

Buddy of mine at work used this same stuff on his ZX-14. I havnt seen it in person yet, nor do I know anything about how durable it is. He seems to like it though, and said it turned out really good. Personally, Im going to try the plasti dip. If it starts to flake, then I can just peel it off and re-do it. I think its the most logical choice if you are going to paint a DIY dark windscreen.

The only plastic dip I found was in a small bottle. I was hoping for an aerosol version. I ended up getting the glossy fusion.

Looks like this will be a PITA. I will bag and tape off everything tonight. I plan on applying a few coats of the glossy black on the inside of the installed screen.

Is there a stickied thread for farings removal? I would like to review that once more to determine which would be less of a hassle.

I used lense tint on mine. If you do it from the inside you cant tell.
What kind? Do you have any pictures?

I didn't think tint would stick to plastic.

I wrapped mine with smoke vinyl, about $2.00 in materials and 10 minutes of my time....
Can this be done WITHOUT removing the screen? What kind of tint/vinyl should I buy? Something from Autozone or Walmart?

I did find some Plasti-Dip spray, and this is what I did. I want to do the windscreen too, but like you said....I would rather take it off and do it. Then I will redo this tank piece also.

Excuse the messy shop, it was raining. My 1981 CB900F project in the back :)

I am just impatient really. I figure the fairings will take me in excess of 2 hours to remove. Being that I commute daily by riding, I won't have that kind of time. I know spray fusion will work but it will be finicky. Not as frustrating as removing the **** thing though.

The above pic looks good. I will definitely consider dipping the easily removed pieces for sure.

Yes it can be done without removing the windscreen, I used oracal 8300 smoke vinyl.
This sounds like something I have to order. Do you know if regular tint will suffice or does it have to be a special type?

I will try and plati dip the outside of the windscreen tomorrow. Whats the worst that could happen? If it doesnt hold up to the wind, I will just peel it off. (sucks because I have to take my cool clown sticker off the windscreen :(

Dip the inside! If I decide to spray, I will only spray the inside which is not exposed to the elements.

You must have a aerosol plasti dip. The hardware store only had a small can designed for dipping tools only.
