I just got back into dirt riding, after a 25 year hiatus.
I have 2 Yamaha Banshee atv's, but I was never able to ride with my dirt bike buds on some of the single track trails.
The Banshees really don't do well in the woods anyways.

So I bought a Kawasaki KLX300R for a great price from a buddy that got a new WR450R.
Great bike, but wanted a street legal dual sport for riding on some of the gravel roads near me, that lead to the fun trails.

I found a good deal on a Suzuki DR Z400S. What a nice, stable bike off road.
Here are a few pics from riding near my home, on the minimum maintenance roads, and trails. Took it easy, as it's been a long time...

If the budget hadn't been 5 grand. I would have got a dirt bike (a 250cc supermoto/dual sport), it feel so nice to stay tall to all other riders and have a distant vision. Keep posting nice pics guys.

My KLX. A crude machine, but also pretty fun.

Here's a few pictures of the 1983 Honda XL250R that I sold to buy the 2011 CBR250R. It was like the motorcycle equivalent of an 80's Ford Bronco or something. Twas a beast, but it got me back into riding after a long hiatus, and I loved it for that.

Nice, clean bikes... it's obvious you take care of them. :)

You can't go wrong with a few Honda air cooled thumpers... I'm fortunate to have a few myself, '94 XR650L, '01 XR400R, "02 XR200R. I've never had one leave me hiking out of the woods...
I appreciate that. We're big on pressure washing them (@ low PSI and not the chain!) after a romp in the mud and dirt. We run them quite a bit around on the old farmstead, which is mostly a lot of grass and weeds. When the vegetation gets taller, we usually end up with green footpegs, levers, and forks! :p Takes a bit of de-greaser and elbow grease with a stiff brush to get that stuff off, believe me. :)

You got that right! These rugged four-stroke singles remind me of little tractors or draught horses...plenty of low-end grunt. It's like they just lower their heads and pull harder on their harnesses when asked.
Here you go!
Get that thing dirty! :D

Love the two strokes.
I have 2 Yamaha Banshees.

Did some dual sporting with some buddies today.
Some deep sand washes, minimum maintenance roads, trails, and even some twisty pavement. 125 mile day. :)
