Greetings! My name is Jeana, I'm from Washington. I just got the black (non-ABS) one last Friday. This is my very first bike, I had just got my endorsment earlier that same week. So far I've got to say I really enjoy it, even though it's still kinda scary because I'm so little, but I am getting more comfortable with it. I wanted to get it lowered about an inch but they said they couldn't do that yet, unless I shave the seat.
I got all my gear before I got the bike, but it's still hard to get riding time with all the rain around here. (lol) Only logged about 140 miles. Great on back roads, and on the freeway!
The only problem I have experienced so far is that the reset button on mine didn't work when I got it. They said they would order a new part as soon as they could but since its still so new they have no clue how long or what exactly you need to replace that. Also, I had it warming up for a few mins then turned it off. When I tried to start it back up it wouldn't unless I gave it some gas. It then proceeded to "spudder" when I tried to rev it for about 20 secs then it returned to normal. It was low on gas, maybe about 3/4 of a gallon, but I didn't know if this should happen with the fuel injection?
ANYWAYS! I'm rambling so I will end it here. :)

I hope so! (about the lowering)
Yeah, theres a mode and reset button for adjusting the clock and resetting trip miles and it doesn't work no matter how long or hard you push it. Didn't work when I got it, even the service guys couldn't get it to.
I just use unleaded (that's what it calls for on the tank sticker) should I not?
Yeah the dealers around here had a hard time getting them too, I got the last one for a few months.
It doesn't help that these and Kawasaki are pretty much the main 250 sports bike makers, and Kawasaki is in Japan, heard they aren't getting new ones until the end of the year.

Grat's on the new bike! I got my motorcycle permit and then went to the dealer and bought my bike in the same day hahaha. How little are we talking? I'm 5'6" and tippy toe on it but after 230 miles I feel quite comfortable on it.

As far as the flooding, that shouldn't happen with fuel injection you are right. However if you didn't let it warm up before shutting it off these things are a little cold blooded and that could potentially cause a minor flooding situation. Just try to make it a practice to let the bike warm up. If the problem persists then you might want to get it checked out.

I thought my reset button was broken the first time, tried a bit harder and it ended up working though. Sounds like you tried everything though.
I'm about the same 5'5" :)
Alright, yeah it only happened the one time so I'm hoping it isn't anything and wont happen again. I will let it warm up fully from now on though.
Yeah they didn't get it to work when I bought it but they weren't sure. Then, when I got it home, me and my boyfriend read the book and still couldn't get it to work. I rode it back to the dealer to cancel my extended warranty and had the service department look at it and try they couldn't either. haha
But yeah luckily that isn't really that important, I could just wear a watch :p!

Hi. I'm in WA as well and just bought the new Black CBR. My husband has been riding for years and I'm just getting the courage to. Going to take the beginners riding course next week to get endorsed. I'm very nervous as I'm a very small person and during my practice rides I feel unsure of the size and weight. Such a pretty bike to drop. :)
Oh nice! Yeah I took a safety course for 3 days for mine too, I didn't know anything about motorcycles or even clutches/shifting. haha
Yeah, it is a little intimidating at first. I am only about 110# so the bike does seem a little heavy for me, but I am getting a lot more confident even after just the 130 miles I've put on it. :)

welcome to the forum!
i'm glad that i don't have much problem with the bike just a little loose bolt so when the bike run it's vibrate and noise is coming. And a bit trick on the first gear shift. but other than that no problem. even when i ride it through the heavy rain and pool.

if there's such a flooding problem perhaps it's better to check it with the honda service in your area.

i hope you can enjoy the ride and ride safe!
Do you have any idea what bolt it is/was? Mine was making a kind of metal vibrating noise, but my bf noticed the chain was loose and rubbing so it might just be that too idk. Going to tighten the chain shortly though.

@Bigwill: Thanks I thought it was a pretty funny title too. :p!
It sucks about the reset button, but at least I know I'm not the only one.

it was the front bolt that holding the visor, bit its no big of deal just tighten it a bit and its like new again.

and yes there's some noise that came from the chain, at first i thought because i dont follow the instruction from the manual book and run my bike fast before 500 km (300miles). but perhaps it's just the chain mechanism. i wouldn't worry about it, just make sure its tight.
Yea Im at about 200 miles now, my bf is gonna tighten my chain here shortly. I will have to check that bolt too just in case! haha :)
